On the first day of 2016, aboard the “Black Gold”, we departed the dock of the San Diego Yacht Club and witnessed Joe and Riley’s union with a Point Loma sunset beyond. They are both sailors and Riley is from Point Loma, so this was very special to them. Seriously, you can’t get more romantic than that! These guys have become such good friends to us and we are so so grateful to have them in our lives:) Here’s to many more adventures to come!
Any basic marketing/branding class will tell you that one of the most important things you can do as a business owner is to define your “ideal” client. You’re supposed to get really specific in order to better market yourself or your product and attract the right buyer. What music do they listen to? Where do they shop? What do they do for fun? How much money do they make? What brand of toilet paper do they use? (Okay, maybe not THAT specific, but you get… Read More »
This is quite a throwback for us! Miranda was a senior model for me back in my first 2 years of photography, about 5 years ago! We shot this engagement session in Murray, Utah shortly before moving to San Diego in 2013. We traveled back to Utah again that fall to shoot their wedding. Their pup is now all grown up and Miranda is expecting their first child very soon! We love these two so much. We hope to be able to photograph their little family… Read More »
“I choose you. And I’ll choose you, over and over and over. Without pause, without a doubt, in a heartbeat. I’ll keep choosing you.”
Taking photos at sunset is always our favorite. Jessica and Erick opted to do an outfit change during the session to give them two different looks. Between the hazy sunset light and their great wardrobe choices, this session has become one of our favorites! In case you missed it, here is part one of their session. Enjoy!
“This is the real secret of life — to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play.” ― Alan W. Watts We had SO much fun with Jessica + Erick at their engagement session. It took them a minute to loosen up, but we are so crazy, nobody can be nervous for long! Something that Dave and I work really hard at, is finding new ways to play during sessions. We feel like having… Read More »
As Dave is newer to the social media scene, he was sorting through all of our client albums last week to get an idea of where we’ve been and what we’ve accomplished. He decided to pull his faves and make a video. I will admit that I totally cried watching it. We love these families and individuals so much. Each and every one of them have changed us for the better. Be sure your sound is up and that you choose the HD quality on the drop down… Read More »
As we drove home in the glow fom the setting sun Saturday night, we sat in silence. Not an uncomfortable silence, or an irritated silence(we’ve had those, yes),…No, we simply sat in a quiet state of joy and gratitude. I mean, how can it be…that we can fall so unabashedly in fondness with the people we photograph? And what does that even mean, “we photograph people“? You could say “we capture moments” or that we “tell a story”….but those summaries fall short, and frankly, they’re getting old. What… Read More »
